ARMIDALE SERVIES DONATION

The past two years have thrown everything at Tour de Rocks and the community. This has greatly impacted our fund raising activities. Unfortunately, the Tour de Rocks had to cancel both the 2020 and 2021 rides. The show must go on!

During the Tour de Cure Dinner in Armidale on Monday 29th March the Armidale Servies CEO, Scott Sullivan, presented Tour de Rocks with a cheque for $17, 850.

As part of the presentation, Scott highlighted the support Armidale Servies has given Tour de Rocks over many years and how the donation came about.

“Whilst the Tour de Rocks ride has again been unable to go ahead in 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the financial assistance required for the various Cancer Community Groups and Programs has not stopped and that’s what has motivated, inspired and led the Armidale Services and its Tour de Rocks Team to continue to fundraise for this great cause.”

As part of the presentation, Kay Endres – Chairperson of Tour Rocks, commented “What a tough couple of years. Drought, Fires, Floods, COVID 19 and then more Floods. But, the Research must go on. Unfortunately, Cancer doesn’t stand still.

With the support of Armidale Servies and the entire Tour de Rocks community, Tour de Rocks continues to raise much needed funds for Cancer Research and Services. During the 2019/20 year over $270,000 was appropriated to Research and Community Programs.

Kay added “Armidale Servies have been a great supporter and partner to Tour de Rocks for many years. We thank them, and their team of awesome riders and supporters, for this much needed Donation. It will go along way to supporting Community Groups, Programs and Services through our Appropriations. We are determined to find a cure for Cancer and eliminate this cruel disease.”

Tour de Rocks will be announcing the date for the 2022 ride soon, so keep your eyes out. The 2022 ride will be a not to be missed event!
